Norway’s Jostein Groedum lives in Malta and is often seen at events such as the Malta Poker Festival representing at least some part of the Betsson Group where he is the Head of Poker.

As Guts Poker is one of the sponsors of the group, he is here with Jon Briscoe White and others representing the brand and assisting the qualifiers.

Groedum can also play some cards as we have seen from time to time and hopped into the Grand Event on Day 1b. So far so good for Groedum as he just doubled his stack.

There was about 40,000 in the pot with the Q♥4♥K♦9♠ on the board after the turn when Groedum jammed for 27,500. Peter Kaspar went into the tank before he found a call.

Groedum was far ahead but had to sweat six outs to the river as any jack would improve Kaspar to a set and any ten would improve him to a straight. However, it was the blank 9♥ river that completed the board for Groedum to earn his double-up.
