Vangarelli Runs Into a Flush

Rigo Vangarelli open-jammed for about 15 big blinds with not much in the pot and the 5♥2♣8♥ on the board after the flop. Lewis Coffin called and the cards were turned over.

Vangarelli flopped middle pair and it was more or less a coinflip situation against Coffin with two overcards and a flush draw.

The flush draw was completed for Coffin after the 2♥ landed on the turn and Vangarelli was drawing dead. The Q♦ river made the hand official and Vangarelli will need to re-enter either on Day 1d or later in Day 1e for a chance to find a bag into tomorrow’s Day 2.

Speaking of late registration, the window will close after two more blind levels and the 75-minute dinner break. The Day 1d field will be closed as soon as cards are in the air for Level 9. Those missing out during the first four opening flights will have one more opportunity tonight in the turbo-charged Day 1e.
