Stanaityte Amasses Huge Stack

Level 11: 3,000/5,000 (5,000)
Entries: 34/177

There are several women remaining in the Day 1a field but none that has a better stack than Indre Stanaityte with 548,000. While we got to meet Stanaityte a couple of nights ago for the first time, we appreciate her fun sense of humor.

Stanaityte didn’t immediately share how she got her stack up but one of her table mates piped up and shared she won a big pot with ace-queen against ace-eight.

Meanwhile, Baris Topuz also has a big stack at the same table with near 400,000 in chips. Topuz recently ousted a short-stacked Torsten Riedl after his AA more than held against Riedl’s KQ

Level 12: 3,000/6,000 (6,000)
Entries: 37/177

The action is just 10 players away from ending the day after Kevin Quinlan eliminated Colin Cooper as follows.

Cooper opened for 15,000 from early position before Quinlan jacked it up to 54,000 from the big blind. Cooper four-bet shoved for a little bit more and Quinlan snap-called.

Colin Cooper: AK
Kevin Quinlan: JJ

Quinlan won the flip after his opponent bricked the 87974 run while Cooper hit the rail after a deep run on Day 1a.

Paul Carr: AQ
Anthony Bone: JJ

Carr connected with his queen on the 4KQ64 runout to stay alive and double his stack.

O’Kearney Runs Into Meijer’s Big Slick

Level 10: 2,000/4,000 (4,000)
Entries: 49/174

Level 11: 3,000/5,000 (5,000)
Entries: 49/177

Dara O’Kearney entered at the last moment for his second bullet of Day 1a but unfortunately, this didn’t go to plan for the poker author and The Chip Race cohost.

Remko Meijer jammed for 15 big blinds from late position before O’Kearney called off his starting stack from the big blind.

Dara O’Kearney: A10
Remko Meijer: AK

Ace-ten didn’t get there on the K67Q5 runout and O’Kearney will have to try again during one of the other five opening flights for a chance to advance to Day 2 and beyond.

Remko Meijer – 135,000
Dara O’Kearney – 0

27 Players (or Less) Advance to Day 2

Level 11: 3,000/5,000 (5,000)
Entries: 53/177

A handful of new players hopped into the field before the action resumed from the dinner break. The field grew to 177 entries with 53 players remaining.

The Day 1a action will conclude when 27 players are remaining, each of which will be in the money. This could turn out to be less if multiple players hit the rail during the final hand of the day.

Best of luck to all of the players in their hunt for a bag on Day 1a.

We will also update the full chip counts from the field just before the action resumes.

The final event of the day in the €70 satellite to the €550 Grand Event just kicked off with already 75 entries in the field. This will grow with 10 levels of late registration.

Meanwhile, the €230 HORSE hosted by Jeanne David has reached 27 entries and counting. Melissa Moore, Anne-Marie Yuen, Martin “Franke” von Zweigbergk, David Lappin, and Antoine Degiorgio are among the players to recently join the action.
